 Glossop and District Sailing Club welcomes visitors and new members.
You will find that the Club offers a friendly and helpful atmosphere in which you can
enjoy the excellent sailing at Torside Reservoir. Benefiting from prevailing South
Westerly winds blowing up the open valley, the large water offers an exciting sailing
environment for all craft. |
| The Club offers a full and varied sailing programme for all levels of experience
and expertise. Most Saturdays are available for "free sailing" (no racing)
whilst Sundays are used for club racing and class competitions and there is a Wednesday
evening race series during the Summer months. The Club has a strong junior section who
learn to enjoy sailing under supervision on Friday evenings. |

Optimist dinghies are available
to junior members or the children of family members (and any friends).
The clubhouse provides good changing and catering
facilities and a licensed bar.
It occupies a fine location for relaxing and socialising after sailing. |
| Membership
at the club includes a berth for your boat and use of the club facilities. However
we also offer a 'pay per visit' scheme where sailors can pay a daily charge for the use of
our facilities with their own boat or windsurfer. We believe that we have the best
reservoir and the
friendliest club in the region for sailing and windsurfing. |
