GSC implements RYA policy on abandoned boats and trailers left on club premises.

The Glossop Sailing Club executive committee has been concerned for some time about boats, trailers, and equipment on club premises whose ownership is unknown,or that belongs to previous members who have made no reasonable effort to renew their membership subscriptions or make any contact with GSC concerning their property stored at the club. We have decided to implement, with immediate effect, the RYA protocol on abandoned boats and trailers and the URL link to the explanatory document is shown.Information that we will adhere to the RYA guidelines will appear on our membership forms in future and a formal notice will also be displayed inside the clubhouse. We would strongly urge all boat and trailer owners to open the link and read the statement. Please ensure that all property is clearly marked and able to be identified by the Membership Secretary when required, and that your membership subscriptions are up to date. If any aspect of this policy causes any individual member any personal difficulty, please feel free to talk to anyone from your Executive Committee about your concerns.

Honda RIB success for Abi

Congratulations to Abi Duckworth who represented Glossop at the NW Regional finals and won the 13 - 16 age group. The weather was blustery and challenging and Abi did exceptionally well, with the support and coaching from Neil. She was the only girl in the regional finals and and came first in a e field of 12 in her category. Abi will now go to Southampton in September to the national finals and we wish her all the best. This is the second time Abi has been at the national finals, and the third consecutive year that Glossop has been represented at the finals - a tremendous achievement for all concerned.
